Three local entrepreneurs have teamed up to launch iSchoolSource Technology Group, a new company aimed at assisting schools to leverage their technology better.

Michael Knox, Christopher T. Spiro, and a private investor, who have worked together on other local and private initiatives, are the principals of the new firm. The group’s first project is to create and bring to market a web platform and application that will allow school officials to communicate instantly with parents, staff, alumni, and other interested parties via mobile and computer platforms.

The new iSchoolSource App is in production and expected to be fully operational by August 2015.

iSchoolSource will allow administrators, coaches and other staff to reach out to parents and others during times when essential information needs to be disseminated. For example, a principal can send one quick alert to parents who have the app should there be a school lockdown; or maybe, severe weather has delayed a sports team’s practice and students will be getting home later than expected. It can also be used for other less critical purposes, such as event reminders and streaming live sporting events.
